Not just a pretty face! | Commercial plant product photography in Aberdeen, Scotland

I mean, this can be said about pretty much every one of my clients – because for sure, you are more than just what you look like in your photos.

Personality, skill, expertise, experience – all this and more play a role in how your audience take you in and keep you locked in their mind.

But today, I am literally sharing images of something that doesn’t have a face (unless, like me, you are one of those people who can spot a ‘face’ in anything! (It’s a thing – Pareidolia and, apparently, not a disorder, but a PHENOMENON – I’ll take that!).

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Fiona of Rooted in Scotland – a plant emporium located in Aberdeen. Fiona’s shop is a beautiful space, filled with all manners of greenery, lovely, carefully and lovingly curated gifts (from jewellery to plant pots to gift-worthy seed packets!). Fiona herself is a fabulous, warm person, who is always happy to talk all things plant, small business talk (as in talk about small business, rather than insignificant business talk) and I was delighted for the opportunity to work together.

Fiona wanted images that would slot easily onto promotional flyers and other advertisement pieces, so we went for a plain, seamless backdrop for the main images and very clean and simple background for some of the detail shots. Fiona delivered the smaller pots in a rustic-looking box and I decided to utilise the box as a prop for some of the images.
